Ce titre élégant et allusif cache un programme intelligent et personnel. Il s’agit ici d’hommage à Debussy, de la nuit et de l’eau, et plus largement d’une certaine forme de poésie. La Sonate de Denisov est mystérieuse et litanique ; elle déjoue souvent les attentes. La transcription des Épigraphes antiques de Debussy est très réussie ; on se prend à associer chacun à un texte informulé… On retiendra en particulier Pour un Tombeau sans nom ou La Danseuse aux crotales. Signalons également deux solos : Syrinx à la flûte, de Zografski, est précis et varié dans l’interprétation. L’Homenaje de Falla est splendide : du caractère (tout en étant pensif à l’occasion), du relief. Toward the Sea de Takemitsu met en valeur le travail de duo hyper précis. Le deuxième mouvement est dentelé, avec beaucoup de couleurs. Enfin, le Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune est un tour de force, notamment dans la gestion des dynamiques. La transcription de Vincent Airault est intime et épurée, mais l’interprétation du duo offre quelque chose de lumineux. Cette dernière pièce est à l’image de l’ensemble : généreux, évocateur et lyrique.
